About Us — What We Believe

St Bart’s is unique in many ways. While it is known as spending the highest percentage of its budget on outreach within the diocese, that is not the reason many come from distant homes to worship in this inner city church. What has made us truly special and keeps us special includes:

What We Believe

Who We Are

Our Leadership

Our Neighbourhood

Our parish is a very caring environment. There has been a history of noteworthy pastoral care from our Rectors. There has been a demonstrated commitment to caring for each other, for our community and for those in need.

The parish has had a strong family atmosphere and is working to achieve that again once the Regent Park community has been renewed. This has been accomplished by being a Parish where social standing, age, ethnic origin, personal beliefs, frequency of attendance at mass are all irrelevant when it comes to fellowship. We are all equals and are all treated as such. We have an atmosphere of togetherness and love for all in attendance. We offer prayers for individuals, past and present, delivered with true meaning and passion demonstrating a true caring for those who need to be remembered. We offer a general acceptance to whoever comes to worship or to participate in a ministry. And we offer a warm hospitality to all who come to our parish.

     1. Our abiding belief in the Book of Common Prayer is not a belief only—we have

always shown a real and visible commitment to the prayers and sacraments embod-

ied in this very traditional worship. It has been said that St Bart’s represents all that

is precious about the Anglican Church, some of which has been forgotten.

     2. A sense that St. Bart’s is truly international, meaning those from other countries,

raised in traditional worship, are able to enter St. Bart’s and feel right at home, wor-

shipping in the manner they are accustomed to.

     3. Clergy who have shown real dedication to traditional worship and are able to offer

such worship. Clergy who have demonstrated their devotion to and belief in the

         Book of Common Prayer.

4. The call to holiness that all feel in this reverent atmosphere.
